I'm always sad to leave Cochin. One of the touristy things to do here is to rent a houseboat and tour the backwaters. The houseboats are large canoe like ships with woven enclosures...you simply go where the water takes you (there are apparently guides too http://www.houseboatskerala.net/) and spend the night on the water. During the right time of year, I would imagine it would be quite an adventure.

Of course this picture has nothing to do with houseboats. Just wanted to show how Fantasy Island this place is. Coconut trees and greenery everywhere!
