This is the level of security at the station. The station owner is a MP (Member of Parliament) and as such has been assigned a contingent of Indian Army regulars as a security detail.

You can't see the machine gun very well, and I didn't want to push my luck and ask him to brandish it for the picture. He seemed a bit surly to have been chosen by his superior to be in the photo, and having his superior in the background laughing as the pictures were taken didn't improve his demeanor.

Plus, it's like a hundred degrees here and I think their uniforms are wool. They look hot.

When the station owner leaves the building, it's quite the armada...troop carriers, police jeeps, his vehicle...practically a parade. Without the candy and cheering of course.
