It was winter in Cape Town, but still the weather was surprisingly mild. In the 40s at night, and in the 50s or 60s in the day. Everyone agreed we were really lucky. We had a couple of days of rain near the end of the week, but for the most part it was quite pleasant.

Cape Town is as far south as Dallas is north, so temps are comparable, although tempered somewhat since it's right on the water.
