You wouldn't believe some of the places I've been searching for souvenirs for friends and family. Even hit the handicraft market in Bhubaneswar. In an unrelated note, there are more cows here roaming the streets than in any other city I've been to in India.Anyway, one of the shops sold religious paraphenalia, including some lovely handpainted cloth depicting the elephant god Ganesha. I tried to talk the vendor down from the 400-rupee price he quoted, but he told me (through a translator) that if he dropped the price he would surely to to hell. Good for him that Hinduism doesn't include any restrictions on price gouging white guys.
